The Den, Sandringham High School’s once-shuttered gym, has been uplifted and restored thanks to a generous R260,000 donation from a past alumnus. It has become a vital part of the school’s broader facilities renewal, marking not only the reopening of a key space but also a strong step forward in the school’s ongoing journey of revitalisation.

Today, The Den operates as a fully equipped Hyrox and CrossFit gym, staffed by expert coaches who bring professional training and fitness expertise to the facility.

The Den is actively in use and contributes to the school’s long-term viability. A functional and modern facility of this nature enhances Sandringham High’s appeal, signaling investment in infrastructure that supports growth and sustainability. It also creates opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, and alumni involvement—resources that are essential to strengthening the school’s future.

The Den, acts as the epicenter of Sandringham High’s rejuvenation project, where people meet, strategize and implement the dreams the Alumni, the School and its partners have for the schools development.

In addition, The Den offers amazing specials to Sandringham High Alumni, further deepening the bond between the school’s past students and its future. Alongside improvements to classrooms, ablutions, and communal spaces, the gym stands as a visible symbol of progress and pride, demonstrating the school’s commitment to excellence and renewal.

In this way, The Den is more than a gym—it is part of a larger vision for the upliftment of Sandringham High, helping to restore confidence, attract support, and build a stronger foundation for the years ahead.
